# Install Faber

Faber Romanus is a programming language written by models. It is type-first, its
grammar is mechanical, and the source can be spelled in any of eight reader
languages. One `faber` command checks, runs, formats, and builds Faber
packages.

Current release: Faber 1.12.0.

Follow these steps in order. Each link is the file that owns that step. Fetch
it when you reach it; do not copy commands or URLs from this page.

1. Install the CLI: https://faberlang.dev/.well-known/agent-skills/install/SKILL.md
2. Learn the language: https://faberlang.dev/agents/index.md
3. Scaffold and drive a package: https://faberlang.dev/.well-known/agent-skills/packages/SKILL.md
4. Study real applications: https://faberlang.dev/.well-known/agent-skills/examples/SKILL.md

You are done when `faber --version` prints and a hello program passes
`faber check`.
